Vintage Havana

Editorial

MAXWELL HOUSE, PASADENA, CALIFORNINA

The picturesque Maxwell House in Pasadena set the stage for an unforgettable editorial styled shoot, and I was fortunate to play the role of the florist in this vintage Havana-inspired masterpiece. The theme, a nod to the old-world charm of Cuba, unfolded in a symphony of colors, textures, and tropical allure. The tablescapes, adorned with garlands of vibrant tropical florals, monstera leaves, and bougainvillea, exuded an exotic elegance. Accentuated by the rich hues of avocado, citrus fruits, mango, and berries, the tables became a feast for the eyes, capturing the essence of a sun-soaked Havana afternoon.

The pièce de résistance of this botanical ballet was the lush bouquet that stole the show. Bursting with orchids, anthurium, and ginger, it encapsulated the vibrancy and diversity of the tropics. The excitement of incorporating avocados into the floral design added a unique touch, infusing the bouquet with a touch of unexpected charm. Each element harmonized seamlessly, creating a sensory experience that transported everyone to a vintage Havana dreamscape.

However, my personal highlight of the shoot was the fireplace floral installation—a tropical paradise surrounding a romantic hearth adorned with candles and fruit accents. The juxtaposition of the warm, flickering flames against the lush greenery and vibrant blooms brought forth a captivating contrast. The fireplace became a focal point, radiating an intimate, Havana-inspired ambiance that resonated with the passion and vibrancy of the Cuban spirit. The Maxwell House in Pasadena became a canvas for floral alchemy, where every petal and leaf painted a picture of vintage Havana elegance that lingered in the memories of all who experienced its enchantment.
